What a domain is and how to buy one in 10 minutes
A domain is simply your site's address on the internet, for example hasapar.co.il. Don't have one? You can start without one and connect one whenever you like, without rebuilding.
What a domain is
It's the address people type to reach your site. Instead of a long address, you have a short, professional name: hasapar.co.il or hasapar.com. It's registered in your name and stays yours.
Starting without a domain
You don't need a domain to publish. Rakatar gives you a free address in the form <name>.rakatar.com. You can start with it and connect your own domain later: same site, no rebuilding.
How to buy a domain in 10 minutes
Go to a domain registrar's website (for example GoDaddy, Namecheap, or an Israeli registrar for .co.il), search for the name you want, and pay, usually a few dozen shekels a year. The domain is registered in your name. Rakatar doesn't sell domains; you buy directly, so it's always yours.
How to connect it to Rakatar
Once you've bought it, go to the Rakatar dashboard → “Connect a domain”, and you'll get two simple DNS records to copy at your registrar. Shortly after, the domain is connected and an SSL certificate (the green padlock) is issued automatically. There's a step-by-step guide right on the screen.
In short: a domain is your address, registered in your name, and it costs a few dozen shekels a year from a registrar. You buy it directly (Rakatar isn't a middleman) and connect it to Rakatar with two records. And if you don't have one yet, start with the free address and connect one whenever it suits you.
